Our history
Centre for Languages and Culture Promotion (CLCP) was established in 2003 in Durban, South Africa by Dr Joseph R Rukema. The establishment of CLCP was result of founder's initiative. After long and careful observation, the founder realised that there is a great need of languages if we truly need to build a tolerant and peaceful world. CLCP started with the French language course. Before starting a four day free French lessons was offered to the wider community of Durban. Lessons were held on the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban premises. After the four days, there was an overwhelming demand from participants to extend the duration of the course. In 2004, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Zulu, Spanish, Swahili, Portuguese, English were incorporated to the program. In 2007, CLC was officially registered as an independent language school. From its establishment, CLCP has trained a number of people in various languages and translation/Interpretation services to various industries and individuals.
